Re: Clone X3 make "etc" folder visible
Hello,

This is due to the System. Mac OS X hides items at the root of the startup disk, but not the same items at the root of another disk.
If you restart from the clone, items will be invisible (and they will be visible on your usual startup disk).

After cloning the disk, I have started my Mac with the new disk, but the etc folder is visible (other hidden folders, like private or usr) are hidden.

Hello,

Clone X copy files with their visibility attributes.
What you encounter is due to the System, changing the behavior of some specific items.
